How to Enroll
2024 New Employee Enrollment
Employees have 30 days from their hire date to enroll online and submit any required supporting documentation for your health and welfare benefits for the 2024 plan year.
Enroll Online in UKG
Benefits enrollment is completed through UKG which is an application found on your UKG landing page. For a step-by-step enrollment guide click here.
Coverage Effective Date
If elected, coverage is effective from your date of hire.
If you do not enroll at that time, you will need to wait until Annual Open Enrollment (unless you have a qualifying life event (QLE). Changes made during Annual Open Enrollment are effective January 1st of the following year.
Benefit Elections are irrevocable
Plan elections are irrevocable for the remainder of the plan year unless you experience an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Change in Status Event. No election change will be retroactive except as required under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) or other applicable laws or policies. This means that once you elect to participate, you cannot change the elections that you have made for your eligible benefits until you have a qualifying event, or until the next Annual Enrollment period, whichever is sooner.
Qualifying Life Event
When you experience a qualifying event, you have 30 days from the date of the event to make a change to your benefit elections.
Employees who wait longer than 30 days must wait until the next annual Open Enrollment period to enroll. Open Enrollment usually occurs in Q4 of each calendar year.
You must notify hr@healthedge.com within 30 days of the qualifying life event in order to make a change in your health coverage.
Special Enrollment Rights
If you are declining enrollment for yourself or your dependents you may be able to enroll in medical coverage if you or your dependents lose eligibility for that other coverage. However, you must request enrollment within 30 days after your or your dependents’ other coverage ends.
If you have a new dependent as a result of marriage, birth, adoption, or placement for adoption, you may be able to enroll yourself and your dependents in medical coverage. However, you must request enrollment within 30 days after the marriage, birth, adoption, or placement for adoption.
You and/or your dependents may also enroll during the plan year due to loss of eligibility for coverage under Medicaid or a state Children’s Health Insurance Plan (CHIP), or if you become newly eligible for state premium assistance from Medicaid or CHIP towards the cost of HealthEdge medical coverage. However, you must request enrollment within 60 days of the loss of eligibility for Medicaid or CHIP coverage or becoming newly eligible for state premium assistance from Medicaid or CHIP, as applicable.
